• Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with infected areas. Exempt from Yellow Fever vaccination are those not leaving the airport in the infected countries concerned.
• Malaria and Dengue Fever are constant health issues in Myanmar and are spread via mosquito bites. Travellers are advised to obtain plenty of strong insect repellent for their visit and to wear close fitting clothing where possible. Travellers infected should seek out immediate medical attention before serious symptoms develop.
• Healthcare is considered reasonable for routine medical treatments but is also limited in range and availability. Doctors and hospitals will often expect immediate cash payment for health services on offer.
